Transportation Change Requests:
The key to a successful route change is coordination at your child’s school. It all starts there. First Student will endeavor to make all route changes in a timely fashion. Patience is advised - especially at the start of school when the volume of change requests can be significant.
- Visit your child's school and provide the change request information in writing. Proof of residency and other documentation may be required. (See FAQs below.)
- Change request information is entered into the district's computer system by the student's school.
- Every Tuesday and Thursday, First Student receives all the changes from all the school district offices.
- First Student processes the changes.
- Usually the change starts on the following Thursday or Tuesday depending on when the schools input the change into the computer.
- The changed information is then returned to the district’s computer system and can be accessed by the schools.
- The change process usually takes 2 to 5 days from inception to completion.
Please remember that First Student cannot process any change from phone calls, emails, or faxes. Every change must come from the schools through the computer.
