The District Mission

Educating students for the world of tomorrow is our top priority. Through mobilization of the entire community, we will challenge, teach, and inspire our students. We will provide the resources to serve each of our students, expecting excellence from all involved. We will deliver an exciting education in a safe learning environment that celebrates our diversity and similarities in a spirit of unity and respect.

Growing Together

In keeping with our District Mission Statement, the Welcome Center, as an outreach of our Parent and Community Partnership Program, works in close contact with each of the 26 schools that encompasses the District, as a supporting tool for parents, staff and principals.

The Welcome Center works in conjunction with the community, parents, family and staff members to help all of our children to become successful human beings.

Supporting our Families

At the Waukegan Public Schools Welcome Center we have specific programs and activities to support and help the parents and families of our District's students.

  • We look for ways to encourage parental involvement in the education of the children.
  • We offer classes, meetings and workshops on life, issues and situations that parents face such as discipline, homework, gangs, even extra curricular activities, and more.
  • We have a place where parents of children with special needs can meet with other parents of the same, for support, orientation and information.
  • Get information about what is available in the District and throughout the community for parents.
  • All our activities and materials are offered in English and Spanish.
  • For further information, questions and concerns, please contact us at (847) 360-5511.
