Action Items

-The Board of Education voted to approve the waiver of  facility usage fees for Child Evangelism Fellowship of Illinois Northeast Chapter being held at Glen Flora School, Clearview School and McCall School from September 2019 through March 2020. Total Cost of fee waiver is $4,640. The Child Evangelism Fellowship of Illinois Northeast Chapter is requesting facility usage fees be waived for the Good News Club. 

-The Board of Education voted to approve the amendments to Policy 2203, Board Member Development.

-The Board of Education voted to approve, and authorize the Superintendent to sign the contract with AT&T for its Secure Network Gateway services in order to improve the safety and security of the District's electronic data and the operation of its technology resources at a cost of $55,000.

-The Board of Education voted to accept the recommendation of the Insurance Plan Board to approve a premium increase of 12.96% to the PPO and HD plans, an increase of 3% to the HMO and Blue Advantage plans, and a decrease of 1.5% to the Dental Plan, and related contractual documents.


Personnel Items

-The Board of Education voted to approve the appointments, resignations, retirements of 10 employees.

-The Board of Education voted to approve Amendment No. 7 to the Superintendent's Performance Based Contract and authorize the Board President to execute the Amendment. The proposed amendment extends the Superintendent's contract by three years (until June 30, 2024), adds additional vacation benefits during Winter and Spring breaks when students are not in attendance, provides a tuition expense allowance (up to $5,000 annually), and increases the employer's Deferred Compensation contribution by $5,000 for two years, $7500 for one year and $10,000 annually thereafter.

-The Board of Education voted to approve the travel, hotel, and conference fees (not to exceed $2,350) for Ms. Lois Kusar, Instructional Coach, to attend the Institute on the Teaching of Writing K-8 from October 19-24, 2019 in New York.

-The Board of Education voted to approve the attendance of Theresa Plascencia at the School Superintendents Association's National Conference on Education on February 13 to 15, 2020 in San Diego, California at an estimated cost of $2,000, which includes travel, lodging and registration fees.

-The District Family and Community Engagement (FACE) staff gave a presentation about the District's new FACE Strategic Plan.
