Action Items

- The Board of education voted to purchase failover hardware and software solutions for the phase II of the Main Distribution Frame (MDF) room located at Brookside Campus. These purchases are required to improve hardware and software availability in the case of an emergency at the primary MDF room located at Lincoln Center. The estimated cost for phase II is $1,273,083, plus a contingency fund of $100,000 for unknown technical issues or services. The Information Technology Department is in the process of building a second Main Distribution Frame (MDF) Room at Brookside Campus to serve as a backup center for critical hardware and software applications. This project consists of hour phases: Phase # 1 - Preparation of network room, electrical, and air conditioning was completed. Phase # 2 - Consist of the installation and configuration of the hardware and software that will do a fail over in case of an emergency/technical issues with the district primary MDF room located at Lincoln Center. Phase # 3 - Consist of the installation of fiber optics from Brookside Campus MDF room to all district buildings. Phase # 4 - Consist of systems non-critical applications.

- The Board of education voted to renew the existing CDW contract for the district’s Microsoft software licenses. The cost for the renewal of the licenses is $57,904.40.

- The Board of education voted to approve the purchase of summer school curricular materials in the amount of $707,262.52. Achieve 3000 in the amount of $147,865.00 for digital services for Language Arts. Scholastic in the amount of $318,540.80 for LitCamp to support Language Arts. Hand2Mind in the amount of $211,204.87 for Math manipulatives and General supplies. McGraw Hill in the amount of $29,651.85 for EM4 journals for Math.
