Action Items

The Board of Education voted to approve the purchase of 500 Hotspots from T-Mobile with a one-year agreement. These hotspots will be assigned to those students that do not have access to a WiFi internet connection. The cost for 500 hotspots is $120,000.00 for one year of service.

The Board of Education voted to approve the purchase of 500 Dell Chromebooks/Carrying Cases/Plastic Clam Shells and licenses for paraprofessional staff. The Paraprofessional staff needs these Chromebooks to support our students and to be aligned with the Remote Learning Strategy. The estimated cost for 500 Chromebooks is $200,000.

The Board of Education voted to approve the purchase of student chromebooks and staff laptops for St. Anastasia's Catholic School in Waukegan in the amount of $56,346. The district is obligated to provide equitable services to eligible private school children, teachers, and families. 

The Board of Education voted to approve the purchase technology for Most Blessed Trinity Academy of Waukegan in the amount of $27,756. The district is obligated to provide equitable services to eligible private school children, teachers, and families.

The Board of Education voted to renew contract with Hobsons-Naviance in the amount of $93,193. Hobsons-Naviance is a comprehensive college and career readiness solution that helps districts and schools align student strengths and interests to postsecondary goals, improving student outcomes and connecting learning to life. The district will be using this platform to assist with the tracking of college/career readiness indicators related to ESSA that will be counted as part of the Illinois State Report Card starting in 2020-2021.

The Board of Education voted to approve the purchase of the purchase of General Supplies/Materials to support Remote Learning in the amount of $96,425.

The Board of Education voted to approve the purchase of HAND 2 HAND, in the amount of $21,144.

The Board of Education voted to approve the purchase of Nearpod in the amount of 55,000.

The Board of Education voted to approve the purchase of of ETA Math in the amount of 77,500.

The Board of Education voted to approve the purchase of of Explain Everything in the amount of 99,000.

The Board of Education voted to approve the purchase of EM4 in the amount of $36,099.

The Board of Education voted to approve the purchase of ETA Math in the amount of $168,234.

 

 

 

Personnel

The Board of Education voted to approve the contract for Colleen Michels for the position of SLP Bilingual Evaluator for $110/hr at 25 hours per week not to exceed $100,000 for SY 21.

The Board of Education voted to approve the renewal of Elevate K-12 in the amount of $936,000 to $1,820,000 as to be determined by the number of teaching positions that Elevate K-12 will be requested to provide staffing for. The Academics Support and Programs team is pursuing an extension of services with Elevate K-12 due to an anticipated number of vacancies and difficult to staff vacancies due to COVID-19.  The Academics Support and Programs team is requesting to purchase a high-quality instruction Tier I class. The agreement allows WPS60 to reserve a minimum number of classes as well as a maximum threshold to be utilized across the district. The Elevate K-12 Tier 1 class will be delivered to students online. The class will be delivered as a year long course per the needs of the district and our schools. The Elevate K-12 Tier I classes will be a blend of live online instruction, work/assessment sessions, and project days. All of these will foster high quality instruction, problem solving, and collaboration.
