Several Waukegan Community Unit School District #60 schools will be hosting clothing donation events as part of a Community Clothing Drive in the upcoming weeks.

Schools will be collecting new or gently-used clothing to distribute to Waukegan students and families during the District's annual Back to School Resource Giveaway in late July.

The first set of donation events will take place next week, from Monday, May 24 through Friday, May 28 during school hours at the following schools: Abbott, Carman, Clark, Clearview, Cooke, Glen Flora, Greenwood, Hyde Park, Juarez, Jefferson, Lightfoot and Washington. A drop box will be set up at each school site during every event for parents to drop off their donations.

Follow-up donation events will take place the following week on Wednesday, June 2 and Thursday, June 3 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Waukegan High School - Brookside Campus.

Clothing donations of all sizes will be accepted. However, clothing with any significant stains or tears, as well as undergarments, sheets, and any other non-clothing items will not be accepted.

Anyone with questions about donations or volunteering may contact Family and Community Engagement Coordinator, Ms. Carolina Fabian at [email protected]
