Waukegan Community Unit #60’s Family and Community Engagement (FACE) Department is giving parents and guardians the opportunity to further immerse themselves in their child’s education by volunteering at their schools as part of the new Families Reinventing & Inspiring Education in District Sixty (F.R.I.E.N.D.S) Program.
In order to begin volunteering in their child’s school, parents will need to attend one of several informational meetings beginning next week. Sessions will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 13 and Tuesday, September 14 in the Lincoln Center Boardroom.
During the meeting, interested parents will receive information on the program's policy and procedures, volunteer roles and expectations, as well as how to use Google as it pertains to the F.R.I.E.N.D.S program. Snacks will be provided.

El Departamento de Participación de la Familia y la Comunidad (FACE por sus siglas en inglés) de la Unidad Comunitaria de Waukegan #60 está ofreciendo a los padres y tutores la oportunidad de sumergirse más en la educación de sus hijos como voluntarios en sus escuelas como parte del nuevo Programa de Familias que Reinventan e Inspiran la Educación en D60 (F.R.I.E.N.D.S por sus siglas en inglés).
Para comenzar el voluntariado en la escuela de su hijo, los padres deberán asistir a una de las varias reuniones informativas a partir de la próxima semana. Las sesiones se llevarán a cabo a las 10:30 a.m. el lunes 13 de septiembre y el martes 14 de septiembre en la Sala de Reuniones del Lincoln Center.
Durante la reunión, los padres interesados recibirán información sobre la política y los procedimientos del programa, las funciones y expectativas de los voluntarios, así como sobre cómo utilizar Google en relación con el programa F.R.I.E.N.D.S. Se proporcionarán bocadillos.
