Action Items

-The Board of Education voted to approve change order costs that exceed the allowable contingency budget of 10% for the Brookside Paving Improvement project, payable to Ingleside-based Maneval Construction Co. Maneval Construction uncovered unsuitable soil in the Circle Drive Paving Project that required removal and replacement with stone. Additional change orders were recommended by the Soils Engineer and approved in the field to keep the project on schedule. The Administration is requesting that the Board of Education approve costs associated with two additional change orders that were necessary due to the discovery of unsuitable soils in Circle Drive.  The approved contingency of $61,940 was not sufficient to cover the total costs of the additional change orders.  The excess amount requiring School Board approval is $11,741.00. 

-The Board of Education voted to approve the Yeoman Creek Solar Project Property Management Agreement. 

-The Board of Education voted to approve the renewal of Screencastify in the amount of $17,000,  for the purpose of allowing teachers to capture important moments online, and allows one record a video from their device to playback later and share, subject to revised terms previously agreed to by the parties, and the operator's submission of an approved SOPPA form, if applicable.


Personnel

-The Board of Education voted to approve  the first amendment to the contract of the Deputy Superintendent of Academic Programs and Services. No substantive changes to the contract are made with this amendment. The Board also approved an amendment to the contract of the Deputy Superintendent of Operational Programs and Services. The Deputy Superintendent received his professional educator license, endorsed for a Chief School Business Official, on January 14, 2021.  The achievement of this goal triggered contract provisions for a title change and a salary adjustment, of $11,944.

-The Board of Education voted to approve the appointments, resignations and retirements of 16 employees.

-The Board of Education reviewed revisions to Policy 6010 Attendance & Excuses.

-The Board of Education reviewed the monthly FOIA report.
