Today’s graduation ceremony will be held as scheduled, and will begin promptly at 5:30 p.m. at Weiss Field. We are aware that some forecasts are predicting rain for Waukegan this afternoon, however, the risk is low enough that continuing with the ceremony remains a possibility. 

We have consulted meteorologists with the National Weather Service, who have advised us that the chance of rain in Waukegan remains below 20% prior to sunset. The risk increases later. That said, some risk of rain does exist, and therefore, attendees are encouraged to dress appropriately and come prepared with umbrellas, or other rain protective gear. 

Another important factor in moving forward with today’s ceremony is the forecast on Saturday, our scheduled rain date, which calls for heavy rain, which would make a ceremony impossible. 

We are asking that tonight’s attendees please arrive as early as possible for the ceremony. We have every intention of beginning on time. This evening’s ceremony will have about 100 fewer students than our ceremony last night, and therefore we expect it to be completed around 7 p.m. 

We are looking forward to celebrating our graduates this afternoon, and are hopeful that rain will hold off long enough to have a dry event.

La ceremonia de graduación de hoy se llevará a cabo según lo programado y comenzará puntualmente a las 5:30 p.m. en el Campo Weiss. Estamos conscientes de que algunos pronósticos predicen lluvia para Waukegan esta tarde, sin embargo, el riesgo es lo suficientemente bajo que el continuar con la ceremonia permanece siendo una posibilidad.

Hemos consultado a los meteorólogos del Servicio Meteorológico Nacional, quienes nos han informado que la probabilidad de lluvia en Waukegan permanece por debajo del 20% antes de la puesta del sol.
