Waukegan Public Schools’ annual Middle School Music Festival is right around the corner! The popular event will be hosted on Tuesday, April 15, and Wednesday, April 16 at the Genesee Theatre in downtown Waukegan.
The Middle School Music Festival annually features performances by band, choir, orchestra, and mariachi students from all five Waukegan middle schools. Over 800 student musicians will perform on the Genesee stage this year. The performances are free and open to the public.
Performance Schedule:
Tuesday, April 15 – 6:00 p.m.
- 6th, 7th, and 8th grade band performances
- 6th, 7th, and 8th grade orchestra performances
Wednesday, April 16 – 6:30 p.m.
- Middle school festival choir
- Middle school mariachi group
For many students, this will be their first time performing as a unified ensemble. While each group has been rehearsing separately, they will come together for the first time just hours before taking the stage.
The Middle School Music Festival is sponsored by Bravo Waukegan and Uline.
