Waukegan Community Unit School District #60 is pleased to issue a Request for Proposals (RFP) for support services aimed at African American male students. Eligible organizations and individuals are encouraged to complete the document request form, which will allow the District to provide all interested parties with the relevant documents. You can access the form here.
Community Providers play a vital role in enhancing the school environment by offering a range of services designed to help African American/Black male students thrive academically, emotionally, and socially. These services may include but are not limited to, tutoring, enrichment programs, activities that develop life skills or interests, social-emotional learning, and other academic supports.
The purpose of this RFP is to create an equitable framework that ensures African American/Black male students have access to one or more Community Providers who promote a sense of belonging and, ultimately, academic success. The goal is to connect high-quality community programs with students who would benefit most from their services.
All contractors submitting proposals are invited to attend an optional, yet highly recommended, Contractor's Conference on October 11 at 1 p.m. at Waukegan Community Unit School District No. 60, 1201 N. Sheridan Road, Waukegan. This conference will provide an opportunity to address any questions regarding the RFP and the African American Male Student Initiative.
The contract award, if made, will be to the most responsive and responsible contractors. All proposals must be submitted to the District no later than October 18, 2024. Proposals will be opened and read aloud at 1201 N. Sheridan Road.
