Waukegan Community Unit School District No. 60 joins school districts across Illinois in celebrating School Board Members’ Day.

Observed annually on November 15, Board Members’ Day is an opportunity to recognize and thank the unpaid volunteers who serve school districts across the state. These individuals work tirelessly for the benefit of their stakeholders and provide a vital voice for the communities they represent. This year’s theme is “Give them the recognition they have earned!”

"With deep appreciation, we recognize the dedication and hard work of our school board members. Their selfless service and strong advocacy for our students and community are essential in shaping opportunities and success for all," said Superintendent of Schools Theresa Plascencia.

The Board of Education for Waukegan Community Unit School District # 60 includes Board President Mr. Brandon Ewing (eighth year of service), Vice President, and Senior Board Member, Ms. Anita Hanna (29 years), Mr. Rick Riddle (10th year), Mr. Jeff McBride (15 years of combined service), Ms. Adriana Gonzalez (fourth year of service), Ms. Carolina Fabian (second year of service), and Ms. Christine Lensing (second year of service).
