Waukegan Public Schools is seeking parents to join its Parent-Teacher Advisory Committee (PTAC). PTAC works throughout the school year to address the areas of behavior and discipline to ensure fair and equitable support for all Waukegan Public Schools’ students and their families.
In cooperation with various district offices, parents, and community members, the PTAC is responsible for the review and implementation of procedures specific to behavior and discipline. Areas of focus in 2024/2025 include:
1. Bullying
2. Equity and Inclusion
3. PBIS/MTSS
4. Review Board Policy on Discipline
5. Review Discipline Portion of the Student Support Handbook
Parents and guardians are invited to join the PTAC efforts by attending meetings during the school year. Please check the PTAC webpage for details related to meeting dates, times, and locations.
The first meeting will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, October 10, at the Waukegan Public Library - Bradbury Room, 128 N. County Street, and also via Zoom, simultaneously. Las Escuelas Públicas de Waukegan están buscando padres para unirse a su Comité Asesor de Padres y Maestros (PTAC, por sus siglas en inglés).
