Diverse Learner Supplemental Security Income (SSI) Disability Presentation Jan. 22
The Waukegan Community Unit School District’s Diverse Learner Department will host an online presentation next month, designed to provide DL families with an overview of Supplemental Security Income (SSI) Disability.
The presentation will be conducted virtually, with separate presentations in English and Spanish scheduled for Thursday, January 22. The English session will take place at 6:30 p.m., followed by the Spanish session at 7:30 p.m. Links to register for both sessions are available below.
During the presentation, representatives from the Social Security Administration will provide an overview of Social Security's disability programs, with a focus on Supplemental Security Income for children through age 22. SSI is a federal program administered by the Social Security Administration (SSA) that provides monthly cash payments to individuals aged 65 or older, or those who are blind or have a disability, with limited income and resources.
