Waukegan Community Unit School District No. 60 joins school districts across Illinois in celebrating School Board Members’ Day.

Observed annually on November 15, Board Members’ Day is an opportunity to recognize and thank the unpaid volunteers who serve school districts across the state. These individuals work tirelessly for the benefit of their stakeholders and provide a vital voice for the communities they represent. This year’s theme is “The Heart of Local Education!”

“We deeply appreciate the dedication and hard work of our school board members. Their commitment and advocacy on behalf of our students and community play a vital role in providing opportunities and ensuring success for all,” said Superintendent of Schools, Ms. Theresa Plascencia.

The Board of Education for Waukegan Community Unit School District # 60 includes Board President Mr. Michael Rodriguez (14 years of combined service), Vice President Ms. Carolina Fabian (third year of service), and Senior Board Member, Ms. Anita Hanna (30 years), Mr. Rick Riddle (11th year of service), Mr. Jeff McBride (16 years of combined service), and Ms. Christine Lensing (third year of service),  Ms. Angela Ramirez (first year of service).
