Waukegan Public Schools will host nearly two dozen local community impact leaders as guest principals during its annual Guest Principal Day on Thursday, December 12. Now in its fifth year, this special event celebrates the important contributions of nonprofit and social service leaders who make a profound difference in the lives of Waukegan students.
This year’s Guest Principal Day recognizes these community leaders while offering them a behind-the-scenes look at the day-to-day responsibilities of school leaders in Waukegan. During their visits, Guest Principals will learn about their assigned schools and interact with students and staff. Each school has planned special welcoming activities, including meetings with staff and students, classroom visits, and building tours, to ensure their guests experience the vibrancy of Waukegan’s school community.
“Guest Principal Day is a wonderful opportunity to honor the leaders who make a difference in the lives of our students every day,” said Superintendent of Schools, Ms. Theresa Plascencia. “We’re excited to welcome these community leaders into our schools, giving them a firsthand look at the amazing work happening here and the bright futures we’re building together.”
This year’s invited Guest Principals include: Aaron Arnold, Annie McAveeney, Bobbi Selvik, Brandon Massey, Dawn Steffen, Don Eisenhauer, Dulce Ortiz, Germian Castellanos, Hamas Ibrahim, Ivette Martinez, Jane Ferry, Jeanette Lincoln, Julie Yurko, Kristen Daniels, Maggie Morales, Maggie Nash, Maha Worden, Mary Lockhart White, Michael Robinson, Rachel Chenier, Rena Lee, Tierra Lemon, and Trey Baker.
