Waukegan Public Schools will host its final Kindergarten Registration event on Saturday, April 25, at John R. Lewis Middle School, 600 S. Lewis Avenue, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.

This event is open to families with children who will turn 5 on or before September 1, are entering kindergarten for the 2026-2027 school year, and are not currently enrolled in the District’s EPIC pre-k program.

During the event, staff will be available to guide families through the registration process and answer questions. Appointments are encouraged and can be scheduled at wpskinder.youcanbook.me.

Families should bring:

-Child’s original birth certificate
-Two proofs of residency (utility bill, lease, mortgage, or Illinois ID). If documents are in another person’s name, a notarized affidavit is required

Already in EPIC Preschool?
Families with students currently enrolled in Waukegan’s EPIC Preschool program can register for kindergarten now through the Parent Portal or by visiting their child’s school for assistance.

Please note that students who speak a language other than English will complete a language evaluation, and all incoming kindergarten students will need required health documents prior to the start of school.

Important Reminder: This is the last Saturday registration event. Beginning in June, kindergarten registration will take place on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Educational Service Center, 214 Washington Street.
