Waukegan Community Unit School District # 60’s online kindergarten registration for the 2021/2022 school year will open Thursday, April 1. Returning student registration will begin April 5. More information on these registrations can be found below. 

2021/2022 Kindergarten Registration

Children who live within District 60 boundaries and will be five years old before September 1, 2021 are eligible to enroll in kindergarten for the Fall 2021 semester.

To enroll, all parents are required to complete registration online here. The online registration process for new students utilizes pop up boxes, so parents will have to ensure pop-ups are enabled on their browser to complete their application. 

To complete the registration process, parents must produce two proofs of residency, as well as an original Birth Certificate. For parents whose bills are in someone else’s name, a Residency Affidavit will be required. A list of acceptable proof of residency documents and the affidavit of residency can be found here.

Parents are also asked to provide their child's current school physical with a record of immunizations, plus the dental and vision examinations, if available. Registration fee is $75.

No child will be registered without all the required documents.

If an in-person appointment is needed, a time can be scheduled here. In-person meetings will take place at the Welcome Center, and all individuals will be required to wear face coverings and maintain social distancing while in the building. Please limit your visit to one guardian. The Welcome Center is located at 742 W. Greenwood Avenue. 

Any child who speaks or hears any language other than English in the home will be required to take an English Language Evaluation, and will be contacted by the EL Department at a later date.

2021/2022 Returning Student Registration

Online registration for 2021/2022 school year for all returning District 60 students will open on April 5, 2021.  

All returning students will be registered through the Parent Portal, and Parents/Guardians are encouraged to complete this process from home. For more information, please visit our Returning Student Registration page. For further assistance or to obtain or reset your Parent Portal account, parents can contact their child’s school. The parent support email addresses for each school can be found here.

All parents and guardians must verify or update contact information. Only returning students entering Kindergarten, 6th and 9th grade need to provide proof of residency. A list of acceptable proof of residency documents can be found here.

Please notify your child’s school as soon as possible if your child will not be returning for the 2021-2022 school year.
