The Waukegan Community Unit School District #60 Board of Education officially seated four members during a special organizational meeting on Tuesday, April 29.
Ms. Anita Hanna, Mr. Jeff McBride, Ms. Angela Ramirez, and Mr. Michael Rodriguez were sworn in following their election to four-year terms in the April 1, 2025 consolidated election.
Ms. Ramirez is a new member of the Board, while Mr. Rodriguez returns after previously serving for 13 years, ending in 2020. Ms. Hanna and Mr. McBride were both re-elected, having served 30 and 16 years, respectively.
They join current Board Members Mr. Rick Riddle, Ms. Carolina Fabian, and Ms. Christine Lensing, whose terms expire in 2027.
During the meeting, the Board elected Mr. Rodriguez as President and Ms. Fabian as Vice President.
The Board also took time to honor outgoing members Mr. Brandon Ewing and Ms. Adriana Gonzalez. Mr. Ewing served from 2017 to 2025, including six years as Board President. Ms. Gonzalez served from 2021 to 2025.
The Board’s next regular meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 13, at the Educational Service Center, 214 Washington Street.
