Rayeanne Nickerson, an Instructional Support Teacher at North Elementary, has been recognized as a Chicago Bears “Classroom Legend.” The program, in partnership with CDW, celebrates Chicago-area teachers who go above and beyond for their students.

Ms. Nickerson was honored during a special schoolwide assembly at North on Tuesday, which included a visit from Staley Da Bear. As part of the recognition, she will receive a custom Bears jersey, a ceremonial football, and a $1,000 grant for her classroom. She was also a special on-field guest at the Bears’ season opener last week.

Ms. Nickerson has served Waukegan Public Schools for 25 years, previously teaching at Carman and Oakdale, and has spent the past seven years at North Elementary.
