What really happened the night the House of Usher burned?
Waukegan High School presents this year’s spring play, a thrilling, 1930s detective-style adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe’s The Fall of the House of Usher.
Set during Poe’s lifetime, the story takes place in two locations: The Raven, a tavern for theater performers, and the House of Usher, a decaying mansion filled with a dark family curse. What begins as a simple visit quickly becomes a terrifying mystery, and as secrets are revealed, it becomes clear that both his life and the life of Usher’s sister, Madeline, are in danger.
Performances will be held in the Trapp Auditorium at WHS-Brookside on April 23, 24, and 25 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $8 for students and seniors, and $10 for adults, and are available at the bookstores and online.
