Cooke Students Grow Flowers for Downtown Planters

Visitors to Downtown Waukegan this summer will notice a pop of color and fragrance, thanks to efforts of Cooke Magnet School students. Cooke students used their school’s greenhouse during the past several weeks to grow annuals for more than three-dozen large flower planters along Genesee Street.   READ MORE...
Senior Night for Class of 2016 to Be Held June 4

Waukegan High School will host a special event on Thursday, June 4 for soon-to-be seniors that will help prepare them for their final year of high school, as well as focus on college and career readiness. Members of the Board of Education are dedicated to the students of Waukegan, and to the community itself. Board Members routinely attend special events throughout the school district and the community. At times a majority of a quorum of Board of Education members may be in attendance at the same event. Below is a list of events where majority of a quorum may be present for the week of May 25. Board members attend these events to support our students or to support community partners. Parent Meetings Planned to Introduce New 1:1 Technology Program at WHS

Waukegan Community Unit School District # 60 has several 1:1 Program Parent Information Meetings scheduled over the next few weeks, aimed at familiarizing parents with the details of the Chromebook 1:1 initiative that will be rolled out at Waukegan High School beginning next year. A 1:1 program means that every student attending Waukegan High School will be receiving a device to use for his/her learning, both at school and at home. Special education students may be using a different device depending upon their individual needs and/or based upon their IEP.  READ MORE...
