District 60’s K-8 theater program, the Waukegan Performing Arts Company (Wauk-PAC), will debut its summer production, Annie Jr., next week. More than 50 Waukegan students representing eight elementary and five middle schools make up the cast and crew of Annie Jr.

Performances will be held on Friday, June 26 at 7 p.m., and Saturday, June 27 at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. at Cooke Magnet Elementary, 522 Belvidere Road.

Tickets are $5 for the general public presale and $6 at the door, and free for children under 2. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door. Ticket Link.

Set in 1930s New York City, Annie follows a spirited young orphan determined to find the parents who abandoned her. Along the way, she escapes the cruel Miss Hannigan and discovers a new home and family with billionaire Oliver Warbucks, Grace Farrell, and a lovable dog named Sandy.
