Waukegan Public Schools has once again been recognized for its commitment to financial transparency and accountability, earning the Association of School Business Officials International's (ASBO) Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting for its Annual Comprehensive Financial Report for the fiscal year ending June 2025.
The Certificate of Excellence is one of the highest recognitions in school financial reporting, honoring school districts that demonstrate excellence in financial accountability, transparency, and public disclosure. District financial reports are evaluated by a panel of experienced school finance professionals and must meet rigorous standards for accuracy, completeness, and clarity.
This marks the 18th year since 2007 that District 60 has received the distinction, reflecting the District's ongoing commitment to responsible fiscal stewardship and providing clear, accurate financial information to the Board of Education, staff, families, and community.
According to ASBO International, participation in the Certificate of Excellence program demonstrates a district's commitment to high-quality financial reporting.
