Dr. Cynthia “Cindy” Stockman, a social studies and AVID teacher at Miguel Juarez Middle School, received a special surprise today when representatives from the Chicago Bears visited the school to recognize her as a 'Classroom Legend.'
The Bears’ Classroom Legends program, powered by CDW, recognizes Chicagoland educators who go above and beyond to support their students and make a difference in their school communities.
Dr. Stockman was nominated for the award by her students, who shared stories about how much she cares for them and the many ways she goes out of her way to support them. Students were on hand for today’s surprise presentation, helping celebrate a teacher who has made a meaningful impact on their lives.
Dr. Stockman has been a teacher at Miguel Juarez Middle School since 2019.
As part of the recognition, Dr. Stockman received a $1,000 classroom grant, a commemorative football, and an invitation to attend the Bears’ home opener later this month.
