The Waukegan Public Schools Back-to-School Resource Fair returns on Saturday, July 25, and this year will be our largest event yet!

Join us from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at our new location, McCall Elementary School and Bevier Park, for free backpacks and school supplies, community resources, food trucks, a petting zoo, kids activities, haircuts, and more.

Starting this school year, Student Support Handbook acknowledgment and signature pages will be completed online through Informed K12.

Parents and guardians should watch their email over the next 24 hours for a message with instructions to review and sign the required forms.

Please complete your forms by August 7. Thank you for helping us make this transition to a more convenient online process!

Families new to Waukegan Public Schools are invited to register their children for the 2026-2027 school year at our New Student Registration event on Tuesday, July 21. The event will be hosted from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Waukegan High School Brookside Campus, 2325 Brookside Ave.

Appointments are encouraged and may be scheduled at: wps60reg.youcanbook.me

To help facilitate the registration process, parents are asked to bring the following documents to the event.

-Child's birth certificate
-Two current proofs of residency (dated within the past two months), such as:
-Water, gas, or electric bill
- Lease agreement
-Mortgage statement
-Illinois driver's license or Illinois state ID


If your proof of residency is in another person's name, a notarized residency affidavit from that individual is required.
Returning families who have not yet completed registration for the 2026-2027 school year will have an opportunity to do so during registration events in early August. More information will be shared soon.

Evento de Inscripción para Nuevos Estudiantes el 21 de Julio
Invitamos a las familias que son nuevos a las Escuelas Públicas de Waukegan a que inscriban a sus hijos para el año escolar 2026-2027 en nuestro evento de Inscripción de Nuevos Estudiantes el martes, 21 de julio. El evento será de 10:00 a.m. a 4:00 p.m. en el Plantel Brookside de la Escuela Secundaria de Waukegan, ubicado en 2325 Brookside Ave.
Se recomienda hacer una cita, que puede programarse en: wps60reg.youcanbook.me

Para facilitar el proceso de inscripción, se pide a los padres que traigan los siguientes documentos al evento:
- Acta de nacimiento del estudiante
- Dos comprobantes de domicilio actuales (con fecha de los últimos dos meses), tales como:
-Factura de agua, gas o electricidad
- Contrato de alquiler
- Estado de hipoteca
- Permiso de conducir de Illinois o documento de identidad del estado de Illinois

Si su comprobante de domicilio está a nombre de otra persona, se requiere una declaración jurada de domicilio notariada de dicha persona.

These designated days provide additional professional development opportunities for staff and will result in adjusted bell schedules at various schools throughout the year.

Free Summer Meals!
All Waukegan children ages 3 to 18 can receive free breakfast and lunch this summer, whether or not they are enrolled in summer school. Children can simply visit one of our meal sites during public meal hours to receive meals at no cost.
The following schools will serve as summer meal program sites this year: Clearview Elementary, Glen Flora Elementary, Washington Elementary, Smith Middle School, Abbott Middle School, and WHS-Brookside.
