Shakedia Jones was born and primarily raised in Waukegan, IL.  She attended Carmen Elementary, Glen Flora Elementary, North Elementary, Jack Benny Middle School & Graduated from Waukegan High School.  Shakedia holds a Bachelor’s of Art in Sociology from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from Keller Graduate School of Management. 

Shakedia is a USA Olympian, NCAA Champion, World Junior Champion, Junior Olympic Champion & 17-time Illinois Individual State Champion in Track & Field.  Find her picture in the Brookside Hall of Fame! You can even find her street in Waukegan as well!
She has traveled the world representing Waukegan.  Shakedia looks forward to creating more opportunities for the families and students that live in the district that shaped her into the woman that she is!
