Diverse Learners Countywide Options Fair

District 60 is inviting all District 60 Diverse Learner families to learn more about the various resources and options available to their child as they prepare to transition out of high school during the annual Options Fair. 


This year’s event will take place Thursday, April 20 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.at Mundelein High School, 1350 W. Hawley Street.


During the event, roughly 50 organizations will be on hand to educate families on a variety of services and transition options, as well as answer questions. While this transition doesn't begin until after a students 14th birthday, all families are encouraged to come get a jump start on learning about the various possibilities. Resources on hand will include:

Advocacy/Family Services - Vocational/Life Skills Learning Opportunities - Educational and Transition Programs - Employment - Government services/financial and legal/guardianship - Health and Mental Health - Independent living - Recreation - Residential services - Transportation


Families wishing to attend may go directly to the fair or get a free ride on a school bus from the Waukegan High School Brookside Campus, 2325 Brookside Avenue. The bus will leave at 5:15 p.m. and return around 8:30 p.m. To arrange for a ride to the Options Fair please contact Parent and Community Partnership Coordinator Tim Kirschner at 224-303-3621 or [email protected] as soon as possible. Families should also inform Mr. Kirschner if they are in need of a handicapped accessible bus. Interpreters for Spanish speakers will be available.
