Herbicide Application Notice
Waukegan Public School District 60 practices Integrated Pest Management (IPM), an approach to pest control that reduces pest populations while minimizing pest applications. After trying non-chemical and least-toxic means to control a current pest problem, a pesticide has been deemed necessary. On September 7-8, an application of Herbicide will be applied at Jefferson, Clark, Cooke, and Oakdale, for the control of various weeds and lawn maintenance. The term "pesticide" includes insecticides, herbicides, rodenticides, and fungicides.
The herbicide being used on all District lawns is considered safe for public and educational facility use. District professionals will place stakes at each school site following application. The public should avoid traversing the property while the flag identifiers are in place. All lawns should be ready to use within four hours of application. This notice is posted as a matter of public information.
If you have any questions or comments, please contact The Maintenance & Operations Department, at 224-303-3650.
